Nyepi Day in Bali is one of the world’s most interesting New Year celebrations. Preceded with a day of purification rituals, parades, and burning of demonic statues, Nyepi day itself it is an entire day of silence and reflection – a day dedicated to forgiveness. The whole island shuts down – no movement outside your home is allowed (except in a medical emergency) and for most residents not in hotels or holiday villas, no lights or noise of any kind is permitted for 24 hours.
This year Bali celebrates Nyepi on March 25th. In adherence to this, Boy’N’Cow will close for three days from March 24th until March 26th, in respect and to reflect in silence on the year passed. We wish our Balinese hosts as well as all our friends and family a very happy and peaceful time. Our doors will be back open on Friday 27th March for dinner.
Rahajeng Nyangre Rahine Nyepi,
